Manoeuvring systems for caravans

Manoeuvring systems for caravans like the Truma Mover XT, Easydriver Pro and the AL-KO Mammut make it possible to remote control manoeuvring without using force in car parks or your parking space at home. The regular Truma Mover XT is constructed for single-axle caravans weighing up to 2300 kg, and the Truma Mover XT2 and XT4 manoeuvring systems are designed for models with tandem axles weighing 2400 and 3100 kg. Especially on inclines, slopes and unpaved roads, the Truma Mover XT4 is a good selection; the 4 stands for a grand total of four motors. The Truma Mover XT2, on the other hand, is compacter and weighs less.

Also available at Intercaravaning.shop: The Easydriver pro 1.8, Easydriver pro 2.3 and Easydriver active from the eponymous manufacturer Easydriver. Easydriver pro manoeuvring systems can be electrically swung on and off of tyres at the touch of a button. The Easydriver pro 2.3 allows for slightly larger inclines. For double-axle vehicles, the manufacturer offers the Easydriver pro 2.8 and 3.1, as well as the Easydriver active 2.8 and 3.1. In this case, “active” means the Easydriver is pressed onto the tyres using a crank or a cordless screwdriver.

The Mammut manoeuvring system from AL-KO received the “best brand” award in the manoeuvring systems category in 2019. With a climbing capability of up to 28% for single-axle vehicles and up to 15% for double-axle vehicles, Truma Mammut manoeuvring systems truly do deliver the best performance, depending on the model. Weighing 32 kg, the lightest Mammut is the AL-KO Mammut M20. The AL-KO Mammut TS422 can move caravans with tandem axles and an overall weight of approx. 3 t, but it also weighs 84 kg. In any case, you should make sure that the AL-KO chassis has a drilled hole for mounting the AL-KO Mammut manoeuvring system; it cannot be subsequently added. Another helpful implement is a ramp.
